Mourinho denies playing mind games Over United- Rooney's Transfer

Posted on 11:32 PM by Unknown
Jose Mourinho faces the press after Chelsea landed in Bangkok on their summer tour
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has hit back at claims that the recent compliments he has paid Manchester United manager David Moyes are evidence that he is playing mind games....

Mourinho reacted angrily when asked whether his remarks were designed to persuade United to part with his chief transfer target, Wayne Rooney.
“The best thing [for me] is not to speak - and if I don’t speak, nobody says anything,” he said.
“If to say that my colleague at Manchester United is a great coach, he deserves success, he deserves time to work, is wrong... if to speak good about him is to play mind games, what do you say if I speak bad about him?”
Mourinho went on to reiterate that none of his Chelsea players would be leaving “under any circumstances” over the summer and suggested the transfer market had yet to kick into top gear.
“Many clubs are waiting to the last moment to make their decisions,” he added. “The problem is that those decisions affect not just one or two clubs, but a lot of them.
“The one who sells has to go and buy, then they have to buy to replace, so no club is safe. Until the last minute, somebody can go there and steal the balance that a manager has when he’s working with a team.
“In that aspect, we are lucky because we don’t have players to sell - none of my players is leaving under any circumstances.”
Mourinho was speaking in Jakarta, where his Chelsea squad play an Indonesian All-Star XI on Thursday.
