Rangers to sign Black and Little

Posted on 10:04 AM by Unknown
Rangers have moved swiftly to reinforce their squad after they were granted conditional Scottish Football Association membership on Friday night.
Ian Black, the former Hearts midfielder, has signed for the club on a free transfer, while Northern Ireland striker Andy Little has joined newco from the original club following the expiry of his contract at the end of last season..
Black has signed a three-year deal and Little has committed for two years with the option of a third.
Rangers are unable to formally complete the deals until next Friday, but the pair are eligible to play in Sunday's cup game against Brechin as trialists.
"I'm delighted to be here," Black said. "The move has been a long time in coming with all the talk there has been in the papers. About four weeks ago, there was a bit of interest shown and, after that, it was just a waiting game for me. I was really excited to hear the manager was interested in me.
"Now I'm thrilled to get the opportunity to come and play here. I had a good few other clubs wanting me to sign for them but coming to a club like this is great. I had opportunities to stay in the SPL and people might criticise me for not doing that but I want to win things here now.
"I know Rangers are in the Third Division but you only get an opportunity to come somewhere like here once. It's something I wanted to give a shot. Playing in front of big crowds will be great and I'm looking forward to it."
Little added on the club's official website: "I think relief is probably one word to describe it. It's been really, really tough these last few months. I know it's been hard for everyone but I've found it particularly tough not knowing where I was going to be or what my future was.
"Everybody saw that the story changed every day and it was very much in the public eye and I'm delighted now that I know where I'm going to be playing my football now.
"I was never in a massive rush because I had some time where I could weigh up my options and I'm glad that I didn't rush it because I had a couple of times where other clubs were giving me dates to make a decision.
"I found it very difficult to think about going to those clubs without knowing the future of Rangers and that was a big thing for me. I wanted to wait until the end to find out what was happening but I'm really, really happy to be back here."
